Long Green Bar
Our lives as teenagers lasted for only 7 years.  But the music we listened to was timeless
The roots of that music lay in our early childhood.
No, that's not quite true.  It's roots lay in the many years of musical development that had preceded up, particularly those first years of the 20th century.
But regardless of where we ourselves had come from...or when we arrived...the influences and the effects of that music we chose (or sometimes didn't choose) to listen to
were felt by us and were carried by us far into our lives as adults.
I doubt if ANY member of the Pasadena High School Class of 1968 can truthfully say that music did not somehow play at least some role in their lives as they grew and
developed, no matter how minimal that role may have been.
But whether it was an influence, a focus or simply a diversion, the music we each chose to listen to or like reflected not only who we were, but what we were as well.  It spoke
to us of our times and of the wider world surrounding us.
But, more importantly, it spoke to us of what we were feeling as individuals, and sometimes the music we chose for ourselves attempted to speak to others of what we felt.
Every once in a while, it worked...and someone would actually listen and
mabye understand.
So, on behalf of the Class of 1968 of Pasadena High School in Pasadena, Texas, I offer the visitor a selection of that music for your browsing and listening pleasure, not just
the music that we directly grew up with, but its roots and, in a way, its continuing evolution.
All music contained in and offered by this project is contained in and taken from my personal, legally purchased and legally owned library of records, cassettes and compact discs and are presented
here solely for listening entertainment pleasure only.  All selections contained herein and as offered by this project represent copyrighted material which may NOT be downloaded, copied, reproduced,
shared or used for any purposes of financial gain without the express, written permission of the various artists and/or production companies who own all market rights to those selections.

In putting together the selections which are to be offered through these pages, I have attempted to be as conservative as possible.  Unfortunately, that did NOT exactly work
out as planned.
At this time there either are or will be approximately 3,500 individual selections available from these pages.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have attempted to cover at least the major genres that would have fallen within our collective range of interests both during our school years and during the early years of our
adulthood.  I have NOT however, attempted to make that coverage comprehensive.
You will probably conclude, and do so correctly, that there are perhaps some notable omissions, both in the form of individual songs and artists as well as types of music
being offered.  While some such omissions do reflect "overlooked" items, the majority of them represent material that is not contained in my personal collection.
Some omissions however, are DELIBERATE...and I readily admit that they reflect my PERSONAL tastes in music.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For instance, you will MOST DEFINITELY NOT encounter RAP music within these pages.  I do not like RAP, I do not consider it to be music and I will have no part of promoting or
disseminating either its style, its message or its influence.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Additionally, you will not find a great deal of coverage in the fields of either rock or country music here for periods after about 1990, though there are a few exceptions.
Simply put, after about that time, both rock and country music began developing in manners that made it extremely difficult for me, at least, to be able to really follow either
one of them.
With but a few notable exceptions, I personally believe that both genres have effectively been in a period of "stagnation" since around that time and I have been waiting
anxiously for another "ground-breaking shift" in the field of popular music to come along, such as took place in the 50s and 60s.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Otherwise, you will find selections that range from the early years of the 20th century down into its final decade.

Please be aware of the following three things when attempting to access the music offered by these pages.

1.  You will probably need to have the Windows Media Player plug-in installed in your browser in order to be able to play and listen to the selections.
2.  I do NOT guarantee that any of the selections will either display or play in Internet Explorer.  They SHOULD.....but they might not.
3.  The selection pages are "media intensive".  While I have purposely attempted to keep the maximum number of selections per page to 25 or less, the physical size of each
musical selection averages approximately 2.5 meg and the connection load time averages approximately 1 minute per meg.....if you are using DSL.  So please be patient.
