We made our choices based and dependent upon our own personal beliefs and our own moral convictions and we did so with the firm faith and conviction that those choices were made in the best interest of our country, our fellow citizens and ourselves. Patriotism comes in many different forms. It may be exhibited as either opposition or support. Sacrifice comes in one form only and that is in the form of the giving of ourselves for others.
Here we choose to remember and honor those from among our classmates whose choices and convictions. or even their lack of choice, led them to serve in the various military forces of the United States of America.
In doing so, we do not intend to either give slight to or to in any way denigrate those who may have chosen to serve in other ways, through other and possibly different choices, even those ways, possibilities and choices may have stood as "Opposition".
For, in remembering and honoring these who chose service in the United States Military, we simply pay homage to ALL whose choices and forms of service may have represented the honorable expression of personal belief and conviction, even to the point of greater sacrifice.
